Treatment

Many musculoskeletal conditions can be successfully managed without surgery. A comprehensive treatment plan can include physiotherapy, strength and conditioning programs, image-guided injections of steroid or viscosupplementation, or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, depending on the underlying condition and your individual goals. Treatment is tailored to optimise pain relief, restore function, and help you return safely to work, sport, and everyday activities while avoiding surgery whenever possible.

Ultrasound Guided Steroid Injection

Ultrasound-guided corticosteroid injections are a minimally invasive treatment used to reduce pain and inflammation in selected joints, bursae, and around tendons. Using real-time ultrasound allows accurate placement of the injection, helping to maximise effectiveness while minimising discomfort. These injections can provide significant symptom relief and are often used alongside physiotherapy and other non-surgical treatments as part of a comprehensive management plan. They can also be combined with local anaesthetic as part of a diagnostic work up to help locate the source of your symptoms.

Ultrasound Guided Viscosupplementation Injection

Hyaluronic acid injections are a non-surgical treatment that may help relieve pain and improve joint function in selected patients with osteoarthritis or other intra-articular pathology. By supplementing the natural lubricating fluid within the joint, they aim to improve joint movement and reduce symptoms. While not suitable for everyone, hyaluronic acid injections may be considered as part of a comprehensive treatment plan alongside exercise, physiotherapy, and other non-surgical treatments.

Ultrasound Guided Platelet Rich Plasma Injection

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections use a concentrated sample of your own blood, rich in platelets and growth factors, to support the body’s natural healing processes. PRP may be beneficial for selected tendon, ligament, muscle, and joint conditions, particularly when symptoms have not responded to other non-surgical treatments. Treatment is tailored to the individual and is often combined with physiotherapy and a structured rehabilitation program to optimise outcomes.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a cornerstone of treatment for many musculo-skeletal conditions and is often the first step in managing pain, restoring movement, and improving function. At our practice, we offer convenient in-house physiotherapy, allowing close collaboration between your surgeon and physiotherapist to deliver coordinated, personalised care. Whether recovering from an injury, managing arthritis, or rehabilitating after surgery, your treatment program is tailored to help you achieve the best possible outcome.

Strength and Conditioning

Our purpose-built in-house rehabilitation gym is available as a complimentary service for our patients, providing access to supervised strength and conditioning throughout your recovery. Working closely with your surgeon our team delivers personalised exercise programs designed to restore strength, improve mobility, and optimise function. Whether recovering from surgery, managing an injury, or returning to work or sport, this integrated approach supports the best possible outcome.

Radiofrequency Neurotomy

Radiofrequency neurotomy is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat persistent joint pain by interrupting pain signals from specific sensory nerves. It is most commonly performed for chronic pain that has not responded to physiotherapy, medications, or injections and may provide longer-lasting pain relief in appropriately selected patients. The procedure is typically performed using imaging guidance and forms part of a comprehensive treatment plan aimed at reducing pain, improving function, and delaying or avoiding surgery where appropriate.
